Holcomb Man Confesses to Double Murder
GRENADA COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) - A 22-year-old Grenada County man is in jail without bond after he confessed to the stabbing deaths of two people in the Holcomb Community.

Grenada County Sheriff Alton Strider tells WTVA that John Wayne McChriston of the Holcomb Community has been charged with two counts of capital murder in the case.

The body of 69-year-old Jimmy Stauddy, a retired police investigator and preacher, along with his caregiver Martha Stoker were found stabbed to death Sunday in the Stauddy's home.

McChriston had an initial court appearance this morning.

Sheriff Strider says McChriston apparently was at the home and tried to borrow money and that when the caregiver tried to push him out of the home he apparently went into a rage.

The sheriff says a knife similar to a hunting knife is believed to be the murder weapon.
