Dr. Edward Hill, a board-certified family physician whose medical
practice spans more than forty years, is the third person
to host 60 Second Housecall in the last sixteen years. Ken
Davis, M.D., who served as chief medical officer for North
Mississippi Health Services before his departure in April,
hosted the segment for the past six years. Dr. Davis
took over hosting duties from “Dr. Bob” Lanier,
who retired from the program in 2002 after more than ten
years as host.
Dr. Hill served as president of the American Medical Association
from 2005-06 and he is currently chairman of the board for
the World Medical Association. He earned his medical
degree at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. Dr.
Hill serves on the faculty of North Mississippi Medical Center’s
Family Medicine Residency Center and maintains an active practice.
In addition to his duties with AMA, Dr. Hill has served in
a variety of leadership positions in other medical organizations,
including chairman of the board of trustees and president of
the Mississippi State Medical Association, president of the
Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians and president of the
Southern Medical Association.
